Jamil Abdur-Rahman (Dr. J) is a board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist. Born and raised in the Chicagoland area, Dr. J is the co-founder of the Women’s Healthcare Group of Illinois. He is also an Assistant Professor at Rosalind Franklin University’s Chicago Medical School, and he is the current Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Waukegan’s Vista East Medical Center. A veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves Medical Corp and a licensed pilot, in his free time, Dr. J loves traveling, running, and shopping for vintage and antique items at local estate sales. Dr. J and his twin brother Idries Abdur-Rahman (Dr. I) are also renowned medical experts who have appeared on television, radio, and in print more than 200 times. They were regular contributors to ABC 7 Chicago’s Windy City Live and are currently regular contributors to the Fox 32 Chicago News at Noon and the Black News Channels Midday news program. They’ve also appeared on both CBS’ The Doctor’s and The Amazing Race and were featured in a global ancestry.com ad campaign.
